Description

To ensure the most expeditious and cost effective daily flow of precision machined components for a limited area of the shop while operating a machine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.

• Daily monitoring of departmental personnel to regulate compliance with operating procedures, policies, practices, standards, etc.

• Assist in determining daily priorities by use of Dispatch List.

• Arrange MRP Tasks as needed

• Adequately supply departmental personnel with needed supplies and assist them through difficulties with improvisational and troubleshooting techniques.

• Provide timely information of product status and location.

• Ensure proper training of new or less skilled employees.

• Monitor and maintain labor inputs into MRPII System

• Validate, and implement any setup or run-time changes generated by team members (MRP)

• Strong knowledge of most hand, manual, and automatic machinery, fixturing and precision measuring equipment to complete departmental assignments.

• Share knowledge of how to set up shop equipment and proof to achieve a first piece quality product.

• Assist in setting production standards and assure they are being achieved.

• Improve on product throughput via additional operations such as multiple machine operation, deburring, cleaning, etc. whenever possible.

• Monitor the output of less skilled employees as required.

• Keep machinery and work area in a clean, safe, maintained, and organized fashion.

• Assist in other areas in order to meet the production needs of Essex and its customers.

• Ensure all employees use proper PPE and machine guard as necessary with each job

• Enforce company policies and procedures to provide a positive work environment.

• Generate all necessary documentation per company policy or verbal instruction.

Requirements

Strong machining background; 5-7 years of shop experience and trade school completion; or equivalent

Ability to understand processes and MRP system as well as other parameters such as capacity, staffing requirements, shop load, etc.

Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, material, program, and paperwork preparation such as sharpening, locating, verification programming, editing, etc.

This is a potential direct hire position.

Description

Complete production work scheduled by supervisor and work on tooling or other related jobs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Set-up a non-automatic mill and run parts to blueprint specifications, meet tolerances and measure parts.

• Set-up a non-automatic lathe and run parts to blueprint specifications, meet tolerances and measure parts.

• Make tooling from manufacturing and engineering specifications.

• Cut, deburr, and bend tubing.

• Use a flaring machine.

• Use various rivet squeezes.

• Use a lay out wheel.

• Use to tools for mechanical operations-sanders, grinders, etc.

• Assist in other areas, or tasks, to meet production needs.

Requirements

Some vocational/technical training and 3-5 years of experience in related jobs or equivalent of the two.

Manufacturing Engineer

Description

Plans and designs manufacturing processes in industrial plant. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include but may not be limited to the following:

• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.

• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

• Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

• Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

• Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

• Prepare, review, and approve technical drawings and documents.

• Works with engineering to resolve manufacturing issues on parts and products and works on new product development.

• Provides manufacturing hours to customer care for pricing and audit purposes.

Requirements

Individual must have strong GD&T and Fixturing skills, high knowledge of SolidWorks, and previous experience with tool & die.

Knowledge equal to a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or related field and three to five years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Summary of Job:

Under supervision of the Quality Assistant Supervisor or Quality Assurance Supervisor and QE, this position involves understanding, interpreting, and verifying symbols, tolerances and complex specifications on blueprint and test procedures using various tools, gages and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Complete First Article Inspection in accordance with AS9102 and all other aerospace standards

• Proficient with GD&T

• Perform inspection work (under FAA guidelines and any other regulatory requirements) as required.

• Test the part per Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP)

• Follow procedures for rigid electrical and functional testing of vendor and fabricated parts

• Ability to verify correct specifications, certifications and packing requirements have been met

• Document calibration records.

• Document and label shelf life chemicals and remove chemicals when required.

• Perform First Piece Inspection.

• Record discrepancies and separate good from defective parts, enter inspection results in database.

• Assume responsibility that received and completed product has met all requirements

• Ability to implement Statistical Process Control

Requirements

High school and 1-3 years of experience working on the job; or equivalent of the two

Shift times are 6am – 230pm, Monday through Friday and 230pm – 11pm, Monday through Friday.

Must be able to lift up to 35# repeatedly throughout shift.
