Job Title: Filling Department Foreman
The position will be responsible for leading multiple fill lines with some assistance of the Lead Operators in a manor designed to drive production to meet or exceed line standards, monitor quality, train personnel, and promote safety, increase efficiencies, cleanliness and organization of the fill line department. The foreman is expected to take ownership of their assigned lines and ensure that all products are produced efficiently and on time to meet customer demands while maintaining the highest level of quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Production Standards – The foreman will be held accountable for the productivity of their assigned lines and be required to meet all of the established line productivity standards. They will consult the schedule to ensure that all components, chemical, and paperwork are available for upcoming runs. The foreman will be required to report productivity metrics and compare against the set standards to determine expected productivity levels are being met, and also send reporting data to supervisors and management at the end of each shift.
Perform QA Checks – The foreman will be verifying the quality of the products being produced on their fill lines. The scope of this responsibility will include components, packages, proper coding, paperwork, and aesthetics of the final product.
Ensure Proper Line Clearance – The foreman will verify/monitor all components present on the actual fill lines to ensure they have been removed when completed with each actual run and placed back in there assigned location, this also includes all labels.
Train Operators – The foreman will assist the filling supervisor in training the Lead and Line Operators, as they will ensure the Line Operators are properly trained and documenting the training for all personnel assigned lines.
Relief Lead Operator – The foreman will step in and cover the responsibilities of an absent Lead Operator. This may include washouts, line set-ups, container filling, and all other functions normally performed by a Lead Operator.
Monitor Oil/Grease Collection – The foreman will be responsible for the proper collection of all oil and grease intermediate chemicals during washout operations. They will also be responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the waste water treatment area.
Facilitate 5S Initiatives – The foreman will be responsible for the cleanliness of their assigned lines, such as ensuring the proper completion of the housekeeping checklist on a daily basis, they will monitor all areas used by the fill line personnel is kept neat and clean which also includes all tools and cleaning chemicals put back in there designated location. All expected duties shall be completed prior to the end of their shift.
Line Maintenance – The foreman will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment used on their assigned lines are in good working order. If issues arise that cannot be fixed by the foreman they will communicate these issues with the Filling Supervisor/ and or Maintenance Manager and follow through until these items are fixed.
No activities requiring hiring and discharging of employees. However, significant input is required to the filling supervisor pertaining to new hires and performance reviews of existing employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two-year certificate from college or technical school is preferred, but not required.
A minimum of two years of work experience with increasing responsibility in a manufacturing of warehousing operation is required. Prior experience operating powered material handling equipment (pallet movers and fork trucks) is required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, company policy manuals, and pick tickets. Ability to write and complete inventory records and other departmental forms. Ability to speak effectively.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized solutions.

This position requires operation of material handling and production equipment in a manufacturing atmosphere. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, reach, bend and twist. The employee regularly is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, including performing some work overhead. The use of safety equipment including an attachment lanyard and vest for elevated work (up to 15 feet) is required. The employee regularly lifts and/or moves cased finished goods and pails weighing as much as 60 pounds. Product drums may weigh 500 pounds and require some strength and proper technique to tilt them and shift them onto pallets.

This is a manufacturing facility. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to noisy and instances of operating mechanical equipment may require hearing protection.
The temperature in the work environment can be extreme from 20 to 95 degrees, inside and outside.
